CITR: The Coroana de Aur hotel in Bistrita, with a history of almost 50 years, bought for 3.48 million euro

January 9, 2024

CITR, as the judicial liquidator of Hotel Coroana de Aur SRL, sold the hotel for 3.48 million euros + VAT, a representative building for Bistrița, with a history of almost 50 years.

"Although we are still operating in a context full of uncertainty, tourism plays an important role in the Romanian economy and attracts investors. In this case, a Romanian-owned company, Drosera Building Bistrița, owned by local entrepreneurs - the Moldovan brothers, owners of the Jelna winery, along with Florin Font, bought the Coroana de Aur hotel in a public auction. The entrepreneurs plan to invest in the modernization of the hotel and continue its history. We are pleased, once again, that we have been able to successfully guide this process and that we have managed to save a new Romanian landmark with tradition," said Andrei Besoiu, Sales Manager, CITR Cluj.

The hotel, traded in a public auction that took place on December 21, is located at 4 Piața Petru Rareș Street in Bistrita, and consists in 2,958 square meters of land and a building with a height of S+P+3E, with a built-up area of 1,900 square meters, a floor area of 8,492.36 square meters and a useful area of 6,978 square meters.

Located in the center of Bistrita, the Coroana de Aur hotel was inaugurated on April 30, 1974, being the most representative hotel in the city. In that year, the first group of English tourists - members of the Transylvania Society of London - were pioneers of the tourism influenced and inspired by the character of Dracula.

Coroana de Aur benefited from a major renovation that was completed at the end of 2013, becoming a four-star hotel. The hotel provides its clients with modern facilities in an architecturally impressive building.
