The Romanian software company Softeh Plus, fully acquired by the Polish Group Symfonia

January 9, 2024

Softeh Plus, a Romanian company with over 30 years of experience in the software ERP industry, announces the full acquisition by Symfonia. Symfonia is a market leader in ERP and HCM software solutions for small and medium-sized companies in Poland and is backed by the two leading technology investors: Accel-KKR from Sillicon Valley, as well as MidEuropa from Central Europe. This strategic move marks the first step in Symfonia's international development plan. Softeh Plus will continue to operate as an independent entity under the same brand, with the main objective of accelerating growth in the local market.

According to Symfonia representatives, the purchase decision is motivated by a strong position of the Softeh Plus company on the Romanian market, which stands out as a top supplier of ERP solutions in the rapidly growing medical and pharmaceutical sector. Symfonia appreciates the outstanding functionalities of Softeh Plus portfolio, loyal customer base, and a potential to attract new clients. In 2023, Softeh Plus celebrated 30 years anniversary and ended the year with more than EUR 7 million.

Softeh Plus will continue to operate independently, with the main objective of accelerated growth organically and through acquisitions in the Romanian market. Regarding the development plans of the new entity for the current year, a significant increase in turnover is anticipated, maintaining the double-digit growth rate recorded by Softeh Plus in recent years, namely the development of a long-term strategic plan to stimulate continued development in the Romanian market.

"Our technological expertise and business potential have been noticed on the European market. Symfonia, backed up by Accel-KKR and MidEuropa, is committed to invest in Softeh Plus to develop further the company and attain a market leader position in Romania. With this investment, Softeh Plus will be able to provide new solutions to serve customers and grow exponentially in selected market segments. said Mihai Calu, CEO of Softeh. We are opening a brand new chapter in the history of Softeh Plus, maintaining our commitment to customers and having a bold perspective on the future, both on the local market and in the region",

Softeh Plus, the first international acquisition of the Polish company

Symfonia Group, with a team of over 600 employees and businesses of approx. EUR 40 million, aims to become one of the leading software suppliers for small and medium businesses in Central and Eastern Europe. Full acquisition of Softeh Plus in Romania is the first step towards this ambition.

The Polish group is committed to providing the Romanian team with the best practices and expertise gathered over the years. Symfonia also plans to capitalize on partnerships with global technology providers, such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, available to all portfolio companies.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Softeh Plus team to our extended family. said Piotr Ciski, CEO of the Symfonia Group. The acquisition represents not only a geographical expansion, but also a valuable addition to Symfonia’s portfolio, marking our position as an important player in Central and Eastern Europe. The opportunity to work together with the Romanian team in the development of innovative projects will benefit all our clients. Together we will continue to provide high-quality services and solutions to ensure that customers can take advantage of the opportunities offered by the cooperation of our companies.”

Softeh Plus name remains unchanged. All the employees and managers remain in their current roles and continue to focus on what they do best – developing great software for customers. In the coming months, Mihai Calu and Piotr Ciski will develop a transition plan to strengthen the management team at the local level, with both operational and non-operational experts. During 2024, Mihai Calu will become a member of Softeh Plus Supervisory Board, passing on his CEO responsibilities.
