Transport federation: 6,000 trucks are currently participating in hauliers' protest

February 8, 2024

About 6,000 trucks are currently participating in the hauliers' protest, dissatisfied with the evolution of the RCA (compulsory civil liability policies) price, president of the Federation of Romanian Transport Operators (FORT) Augustin Hagiu said on Wednesday. He also said that a delegation may be present for discussions at the Government on Thursday."I think that 6,000 trucks have been reached at the moment: the fact that the RCA exploded in the last two years, it has practically tripled for class B0, the fact that we still have big problems at the southern and western borders: waiting time, abuses and there are still scales there, the fact that a tripling of the value of tolls is planned from January 2025 - they will pay the tolls and Go Box, the fact that there is no dialogue at all. For a year and a half it's like we haven't even had a secretary of state or minister of Transport. There are zero meetings, zero discussions, zero dialogue. All the measures come quickly. There are a lot of problems that nobody in the Government or in the relevant ministries wants to address and obviously people are manifesting themselves as you see them," said Augustin Hagiu.
