The Executive has approved on Thursday, through a draft law, the ratification of the Romania-United Arab Emirates intergovernmental agreement on military cooperation, signed in Abu Dhabi on 22 June 2022.According to a government press release, the agreement aims to promote bilateral cooperation in the defence area between the two states, in accordance with national legislation and international obligations assumed by them based on the principles of equality, reciprocity and mutual interest."Areas of cooperation include: training of military personnel, joint operational training, collaboration in the military-technical area. The agreement takes the form of an international treaty at governmental level and contains classified information, which will only be disclosed to interested institutions," the release said.
