Vizita premierului Marcel Ciolacu în Statele Unite ale Americii

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu: I will discuss with the American partners about advancing the joint economic projects, increasing U.S. investments in Romania and strengthening support in the political and security areas

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu will leave today on a working visit to the United States of America - to Washington D.C. and New York, together with a government delegation that will include the Defence Minister Angel Tilvăr, the Foreign Affairs Minister Luminița Odobescu, and the Economy Minister Radu Oprea.
- Advancing the joint economic projects, increasing U.S. investments in Romania and strengthening the political and security support that we receive from our strategic partners are the goals of the visit to the United States, stated Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
The Prime Minister will meet with representatives of the Romanian community from the Washington-Virginia-Maryland area.
He will also have meetings with several senior U.S. officials. At the U.S. Department of State, the prime minister will meet U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Also, the Head of the Romanian Executive will have meetings with the Secretary of Defense, Lloyd J. Austin III, and the U.S. Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm.
An important point of the visit will be the meetings with Antonio Guterres, the Secretary - General of the United Nations and Dennis Frances, President of the 78th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
The agenda of the visit will include meetings with House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers and Ranking Member Adam Smith, with U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Jim Risch, Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and with the co-chairs of the Friendship Group with Romania in the United States Congress, members of the House of Representatives, Mike Turner and Elissa Slotkin.
An important component of the working visit is the economic one. The Prime Minister and the government delegation will have talks with representatives of the Google, Lockheed Martin and with representatives of the United States Energy Association leadership.
During the visit, the Romanian Prime Minister will pay tribute to American heroes at Arlington Cemetery in Washington, visit the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington and have a dialogue with representatives of Jewish associations.
