Railway passenger transport recorded, in the first 9 months of 2023, a 7.9% increase in the number of passengers and a 7.4% of their roadmap, compared to the same period of 2022, according to data centralized by the National Statistic Institute. In the period of time analysed, road passenger transport represented 75.3% ot total, being followed by railway transport (18.5%). Compared to January-September 2022, road passenger traffic recorded a 15.5% increase in the number of passengers transported, while their roadmap increased by 19.8%. Transport on inferior shipping channels recorded 85,000 passengers, while maritime transport did not register any passengers in the period of time analysed. Air transport recorded the most important increase among transport means,in the number of passengers – 18.8% against the first 9 months of 2022, when 18,704,000 passengers were transported, 92.7% in international routes.
