Asociatia Sistemul National de Reciclare a Bateriilor (SNRB Association) of Romania and local Wood Expert Solution SRL (WES) recycler of electrical and electronic waste are part of a partnership with Redivium Australia under which they committed to work together to complete a feasibility study for a 10 tonne per day 'Spoke' battery recycling plant.According to a SNRB press statement released on Friday, here will be an investment of over EUR 40 million in a lithium-ion battery recycling facility that will use the recycling technology licensed by Redivium, already present in countries like Germany."The parties began due diligence in 2022 to support the decision to enter into this agreement. This process has included visiting the demonstration plant of Primobius GmbH in Hilchenbach, Germany. The partners have current industry experience operating end-of-life battery recycling programmes across Romania. WES currently operates a battery sorting line, with LiB recycling facilities to dismantle e-waste, including plastic shredding. (...)
