UNIQA Group launches HUB for International Programmes

February 9, 2024

The UNIQA IP HUB has been established for companies from Central and Eastern Europe (where the UNIQA Group is also present), which, due to their cross-border operations, require insurance coverage not only for their domestic business, but also for risks associated with international operations. International programs will be offered by UNIQA Poland in response to requests for proposals received from local UNIQA companies and their collaborating brokers.

„For many years we see a great potential of growth in Property and Casualty Insurance for corporate clients - especially in Central and Eastern Europe with a steadily growing number of enterprises. Many of them even decide to operate outside their home country. Based on our vast experience we can provide standardized offerings exactly meeting the needs of these international clients”, says Wolfgang Kindl, member of the management board for customer & market international at UNIQA Group.

"We are pleased that UNIQA Poland's experience has been recognized within the Group because we undoubtedly possess the knowledge and tools to manage international insurance programs in a professional and effective manner. We attach great importance to the quality of cooperation with our partners and we know that this is appreciated by them”, adds Adam Łoziak, member of the management board for corporate clients and housing at UNIQA Poland.

International programs are negotiated individually and tailored to the client's needs, considering the specifics of their operations, asset values, territories, structures, as well as the legal regulations in each country.

"We greatly appreciate the cooperation with colleagues from UNIQA Poland and we are convinced that this group proposal will also be more beneficial for our clients. In the solution we propose, the parent company manages the international program on behalf of the whole group, which is much easier than securing insurance separately for each subsidiary. This solution allows for better risk control and ensures a uniform standard of protection for all group companies. Importantly, each subsidiary can incorporate local requirements into the insurance coverage, typically influenced by local law and practice. The IP HUB also facilitates the coordination of claims adjustmentin the case of international supply chains, as well as compliance with tax and legal obligations related to insurance in all countries where the company operates", explains Ramona Bernic, Board Member, UNIQA Asigurari.

Currently, UNIQA Poland insures around 90,000 small, medium, and large enterprises and collaborates with nearly 900 insurance brokers in Poland. The company is a leader in insurance for housing, as well as the second-largest provider of insurance guarantees. It handles approximately 155,000 claims applications annually for business and housing. According to a 2022 survey, brokers highly value their collaboration with UNIQA Poland for its continuous improvement of service level, individualized approach, business partnership, and transparency.
