Abdulrazak Gurnah, Nobel Prize winner for Literature in 2021 visits Romania

Writer Abdulrazak Gurnah, the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature 2021 will be in Romania ovwe October 22-25, at the invitation of Ltera Publishing House and the International Festival for Literature and Translations from Iasi.   According to a Tuesday press release, the writer will meet the Romaian public at two events held in Bucharest and Iasi.   The Swedish Academy granted Abdulrazak Gurnah in 2021 the most important literary prize for the uncompromised approach full of compassion of the effects of colonialism and destiny of refugees at the crossroad between cultures and continents. (Nobel Jury Motivation).   The author of numerous stories and essays and of ten novels, he wrote about exile, about important historic moements and devastating social ruptures. His novels take place in intimate family and friendly areas, areas fed by love and duty, but which are vulnerable by their very nature.
