About 4.788 million pensioners at end December 2022; average pension was 1,739 lei

4,787,920 pensioners were registered in December 2022 in Romania and the average pension was 1,739 lei, according to data centralized by the National Public Pension House (CNPP).   Of them, 694,843 who had worked in agriculture, had an average pension of 506 lei. Of the total number of pensioners in the public pension system, those who retired at age limit were 3,823,804 persons, of whom 2,200,689 women, while the average pension was 1,937 lei.   7,699 people received early pensions in December 2022 (2,470 lei average pension), 91,564 persons received partial early pensions (1,796 lei average pension) and invalidity pensions went to 398,983 people (781 lei average pension), of whom 44,794 persons for 1st degree invalidity (671 lei average pension).   During the same month, survivor pensions were granted to 465,724 persons (908 lei average pension), while 146 pensioners received social aid (421 lei average pension).
