Romania's acting President Ilie Bolojan had a telephone conversation on Tuesday with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, about Romania's priorities related to the continuation of EU support for Ukraine, the advancement of decisions on the strengthening of the European defence sector and the need for swift actions to boost competitiveness both at EU and national level."Ahead of this week's EUCO, I discussed with President Costa Romania's priorities regarding the continuation of EU support for Ukraine, advancing decisions on strengthening the European defence sector, and the need for swift action to boost competitiveness at both EU and national levels. When it comes to the next EU budget, we must find the right balance between the EU's new objectives in terms of competitiveness and defence while preserving the importance of cohesion and agricultural policies," Bolojan wrote on Tuesday in a social media post.The European Council will meet on Thursday and Friday in Brussels.
