Agriculture: Crop production holds largest share (65.6%) in structure of value of agricultural production in 2022

In 2022, crop production held the largest share (65.6%) in the structure of the value of agricultural production, down 5.6 percentage points from the previous year, according to final data the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Friday.The value of agricultural production in 2022, in current prices, was 109.56 billion lei."The value of crop production in 2022, compared to 2021, increased in only one development region South-Muntenia (+0.3 percentage points), and decreased in the other development regions: South-East (-39 pp), North-East (-34 pp), Bucharest-Ilfov (-30.4 pp), North-West (-25.4 pp), West (-22.8 pp), South-West Oltenia (-21 pp) and Centre (-18.9 pp)," the press release mentions.According to the INS, in 2022, compared to 2021, the value of livestock production increased in the West (+3.5 pp), North-West (+3.1 pp), South-Muntenia (+1.5 pp) and Centre (+0.3 pp) development regions; while in the other development regions the value of livestock production decreased between 7.4 pp and 2.7 pp.At the same time, the value of agricultural services increased in all development regions by between 46.3 pp and 8.8 pp.Crop production has the highest share in the production of the agricultural branch in all the development regions of the country, with values ranging from 57.2% (North-East and Centre development regions) to 77% (South-Muntenia development region).In 2022, compared to 2021, the structure of the value of the agricultural industry's production increased mainly in the South-Muntenia (+3.3 p.p.) and West (+0.4 p.p.) development regions. The most important decreases were in the South-East (-2.9 pp) and North-East (-1.3 pp) development regions.In the structure of crop production in the year 2022, the largest share goes to the development regions of South-Muntenia (26.0%), South-East (16.5%) and South-West Oltenia (13.8%), while in the structure of livestock production of the same year the largest share goes to the development regions of North-East (20.1%), North-West (15.4%), South-Muntenia (14.9%) and Centre (14.7%).
