Agriculture : Ministry of Agriculture : Requests for financing from European funds of over 1 bn euros

March 11, 2024

The funds available for investments in the conditioning, storage and processing of agricultural and fruit products, financed through the DR-22 intervention of the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy 2023 - 2027 (PS PAC 2027), were fully consumed by the requests submitted online on the official website of the Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments during this period, informs the Ministry of Agriculture in a press release.According to the cited source, the requests submitted by the processors exceed one billion euros. Processors submitted 428 funding requests, amounting to 1.13 billion euros, in the open session for DR-22, December 20, 2023 - February 5, 2024."I am happy about the great interest of the processors in this measure from the Strategic Plan. Romania needs processing, I have said it every time and I will repeat it on every occasion. Within the DR-22 intervention, the amount of funding granted can reach 10 million euros for each project to establish processing units for the fruit-vegetable, milling, oil and combined feed sectors. The fact that the success of the INVESTALIM Program is doubled by the interest shown by processors for this investment measure shows us that we are on the way correct in terms of supporting Romanian production," said the Minister of Agriculture, Florin-Ionut Barbu. Also through DR-22, investments other than those previously mentioned are financed with up to 7 million euros/establishment project and with up to 3 million euros/investment project for the modernization of processing units. The non-refundable financing is a maximum of 65% of the total eligible expenses of a project. The investment projects submitted on the official website of the Agency for Financing Rural Investments (www.afir.ro) in this session propose for financing the construction and equipment of conditioning, storage and processing units, investments in internal infrastructure and utilities, as well as expenses for ensuring compliance with hygiene conditions and the technological flow, expenses related to the marketing of the obtained products (equipment for labeling, product packaging), expenses related to the marketing of the products.
