Agriculture Ministry to host Palm Sunday fair, April 14-17

  The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) is hosting a Palm Sunday fair April 14-17 to be attended by 28 small local entrepreneurs, members of the Produs de Cluj association.Thus, from April 14, between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs, food producers who follow local tradition, and craftsmen will exhibit assortments of traditional products obtained according to their own recipes, and handmade objects.Among the Romanian products to be found at this year's Palm Sundays fair are jams, preserves, compotes, fruit syrups, zacusca, cold pressed oils, gingerbread, chocolate, homemade bread and cakes, cheeses, meat products, spirits and wines.There will also be folk costumes from the Transylvania area, sheepskins and leather belts, organic and lavender cosmetics, carved wooden items, as well as decorated eggs.The event at MADR will bring together, in addition to the Cluj partners of the association, small entrepreneurs from other counties and special guests, who will also showcase their own handmade products.Attending for the first time among the exhibitors will be the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca, and on sale at its stand will be products from its farms and resorts. The Apoldia Maior Wine Resort will exhibit for sale its white wines Docentus, Eruditus and Traminer Roz, as well as bag-in-box wines served by the glass; the Cojocna farm will display cold pressed oil, and cherry tomatoes will be brought from the university's greenhouses.
