The value of agricultural output increased by 8.5% in 2025 against the previous year, reaching 115.7 billion lei at current prices, compared with 100.5 billion lei at current prices in 2024, according to semi-final data published on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).The value of crop production increased by 13.6%, while the value of livestock production rose by 2.5%. Meanwhile, the value of agricultural services decreased by 0.3%.Compared with 2024, the structure of the value of agricultural output in 2025 shows an increase in the share of crop production to 58.7% (+3.7 percentage points) and a decline in the share of livestock production to 38.2% (-3.6 percentage points). Agricultural services remained relatively unchanged, accounting for 3.1%.In terms of the structure of crop production value in 2025, by crop groups, increases in the shares of production value were recorded for oil crops (+3.6 percentage points), cereals (+1.5 percentage points) and fruit and grapes (+1.2 percentage points). Decreases were recorded for vegetables and melons (-2.9 percentage points), other crop groups (-1.5 percentage points), fodder plants (-1.4 percentage points) and potatoes (-0.5 percentage points).The structure of livestock production value in 2025, by species and product groups, shows increases in the shares of production value for cattle (+1.6 percentage points), poultry (+0.6 percentage points) and products obtained from milk processing on livestock farms (+0.1 percentage points). Decreases were recorded for pigs (-1.3 percentage points), sheep and goats, as well as other groups (-0.5 percentage points for each category).
