Almost 25 million euro, blocked in the Romanian economy by the new informatics system ONRC 2.0

September 26, 2024

Blockages and the failure of the new Trade Register portal (ONRC 2.0) cause approximately 25 million euros to be blocked in the economy, according to a calculation based on official data made for Economedia by Marius Stanciu, Partner of the law firm Buju Stanciu&Asociatii.   As a result, USR demanded on Wednesday the dismissal of Valentina Burdescu, general manager ONRC and the project manager of the new system ONRC 2.0 stating that there is another week gone when the new ONRC portal 2.0 does not function, and the guilty ones did not answer., says News.ro.   According to the estimates of the specialists, approximately 25 million euro got blocked in the Romanian economy until now. USR demands the dismissal of Valentina Burdescu, general manager ONRC and the project manager of the new informatics system ONRC 2.0. Valentina Burdescu as manager decided to launch in production a new non-tested system, validated the technical characteristics for the system and has to pay for the damage produced to the Romanian entrepreneurs blocked in the system' USR announces.   ' For the chatastrophic management of the project by the general manager those who pay now are the ONRC employes in the country and the entrepreneurs. Supplimentary working hours, holidays ruined, health issues, blockages' the USR deputy Daniel Blaga says.   According to USR, the catastrophic management of the ONRC 2.0 portal does not mean only 40 million euro which were spent from the public money but huge security breaches and blockages that the entrepreneurs had to face.   'Moreover, the Start-Up Nation programme cannot start until the portal is 100% functional. Tens of thousands of companies are placing their hopes in these financings this year as well, which could positively impact tens of thousands of Romanians. However, these hopes seem blocked at the momentby the incompetence of those who lead us, states USR.   'A week ago, prime minister and the minister of justice announced that they will resign if the project does not work as it should. Surprise, the system does not work, but the governors don't say anything about those who put the work of ONRC on hold. We do not know today when the new portal could work. It may take another month. It can take six more. It may take another year' states USR.   ' With elections in the future and with two parties attacking each other daily, in the eyes of the world, trying to make us forget that they led and are leading Romania together into the abyss, the ONRC issue does not seem important to them, because the bill, of tens of millions of euros monthly will be settled by the people' concludes deputy Daniel Blaga.
