Registrations of individuals and legal entities doing business in Romania increased in the first seven months of 2026 by 1.58% year-over-year, totalling 85,988 of which 47,454 LLCs and 34,699 PFAs, according to data published on the website of the National Companies Registry Office (ONRC).Most registrations were in Bucharest, 20,276 (+6.4% from the first seven months of 2025), and in the counties of Ilfov (5,561, +7.38%), Cluj (4,266, +5.91%), Timis (4,256, +7.39%), Iasi (3,435, -3.89%) and Constanta (4,266, +5.91%).On the other hand, the lowest number of registrations was recorded in the following counties: Covasna (459, -4.18% from January-July 2025), Mehedinti (527, -7.71%), Tulcea (530, -14.52%), Teleorman (544, -10.67%), Ialomita (606, +9.19%) and Caras-Severin (605, -7.21%).The largest increases in the number of registrations were recorded in the counties of Calarasi (+28.29%), Constanta (+18.63) and Giurgiu (+16.71%), and the most significant decreases in the counties of Alba (-25.04%), Tulcea (-14.52%) and Dolj (-14.35%).According to ONRC, the areas in which the most registrations were made are: transport and storage (14,916, +6.05% from the first seven months of 2025), wholesale and retail trade (12,238, -13.9%) and professional, scientific and technical activities (9,098, +9.46%).In July 2026, 11,035 individuals and legal entities doing business in Romania were registered, most of them in Bucharest (2,784), and the counties of Ilfov (752), Timis (599) and Cluj (577).
