Almost half of the 150,000 jobs advertised since the beginning of the year were in Bucharest, namely 71,000, with the capital followed in the ranking of areas with the highest number of vacancies by Brasov, Ilfov, Cluj, Iasi, Constanta and Timis, according to an analysis by an online recruitment platform. In a ranking of the counties with the highest recruitment activity this year, Bucharest, Brasov, Ilfov, Cluj, Iasi, Constanta and Timis had the largest number of jobs available to candidates. At the other end of the ranking are Harghita, Mehedinti and Caras-Severin.According to data compiled by eJobs Romania, of the nearly 150,000 jobs posted from January to date, 71,000 were in Bucharest, meaning that the capital accounts for almost half of the total number of job vacancies nationwide.Brasov was the county with the next highest number of jobs available to candidates, followed by Ilfov, Cluj, Iasi, Constanta and Timis.'Of all these counties, Brasov has climbed the most in the ranking, from fifth place in 2025 to second place this year. Cluj and Iasi have slipped slightly, being replaced by Ilfov. With the exception of Bucharest, where there is the greatest diversity of sectors hiring, in the other cities the largest volume of jobs came from sectors such as retail, the food industry, services, tourism, finance/banking and transport/logistics,' eJobs.ro CEO Bogdan Badea said, according to the press release. In terms of the career level sought by employers, most jobs were aimed at entry-level candidates, who accounted for approximately 60% of the total number of vacancies. The mid-level segment, with two to five years of experience, was the second most sought-after category of candidates, followed by those with no experience, senior candidates with more than five years of experience, and managers, the source said.'We also correlate these data with figures on the departments where most recruitment took place and note a large number of departments that traditionally have high staff turnover rates and therefore require a constant need to replace employees who have left,' Bogdan Badea added. The analysis shows that these include sales, customer service/call centres, administration/logistics, production and accounting. In the counties with the highest number of vacancies this year, average net monthly salaries range from 5,000 to 6,500 lei, according to data from Salario, eJobs' salary comparison tool. The highest average is recorded in Bucharest, at 6,500 lei. The average net salary is around 5,800 lei in Cluj, 5,500 lei in Timis, and 5,000 lei in Ilfov, Iasi, Brasov and Constanta. For entry-level positions, the category with the highest recruitment demand, the average is 4,000 lei net per month.According to the source, there are also counties with significantly lower recruitment activity, with Harghita, Mehedinti, Caras-Severin and Covasna recording the fewest vacancies from the beginning of the year to date.'In these cases, we are talking about 4,500 to 5,000 jobs available in each county, figures that prompt many candidates to apply for jobs in the nearest major cities in order to increase their chances of being hired. For them, the options are most often the major counties at the top of the ranking, namely the capital, Brasov, Ilfov, Cluj, Iasi, Timis and Constanta,' Bogdan Badea said.More than 17,000 jobs are available on eJobs.ro and 9,200 on iajob.ro, the jobs platform launched by eJobs Romania.
