Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec on war in Ukraine: Romania showed the world the true meaning of solidarity

The U.S. Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec said on Thursday, in Galati, referring to the war in Ukraine, that Romania showed the world the true meaning of solidarity, the Americans being impressed by the way the people and the Government of Romania went to the border when the war started to help those in need.As strategic partners and allies in NATO, we are united in the face of Russia's unprovoked and illegal aggression, to support Ukraine and strengthen the collective defense within the Alliance. All this time, in the face of the unimaginable hardships endured by our neighbors in Ukraine, Romania showed the world the true meaning of solidarity. The mobilization and empathy on the part of the people of Galati for their neighbors was quite extraordinary. We were impressed by the way the people and the Government of Romania went to the border, to help those in need by offering tea and cake, along with material support. Your actions have made a difference in the lives of countless Ukrainian families, said Kathleen Kavalec.The ambassador publicly thanked the Romanians for the help offered to the Ukrainians and assured them that they will always have a partner in the United States of America.Thank you for showing the world that in times of crisis Romania remains united, ready to help those in need. We assure you that you will always have a partner in the United States. We are honored to be with you, said Kathleen Kavalec.Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec was in Galati on Thursday, where she participated in the opening of the traveling photographic exhibition "Noi, Poporul/ We the People", made by the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, with the National News Agency AGERPRES and in collaboration with the University of Craiova, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership between the United States of America and Romania.
