AmCham:Nicusor Dan and future Government must quickly resolve equation with many deficit unknown

 The American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania) congratulates the elected president, Nicu?or Dan, and conveys that he and the future Government, together with the Romanian Parliament, have to quickly solve the equation with many unknowns of the deficits."The American Chamber of Commerce in Romania congratulates the elected president, Mr. Nicu?or Dan, to whom the Romanians granted, on May 18, 2025, the vote of confidence, a clear reconfirmation of the European and trans-Atlantic values ??that Romania shares. (...) With the election as president, both Mr. Nicu?or Dan and the future Government, together with the Romanian Parliament, have to quickly solve the equation with many unknowns of deficits. It is an Olympic problem, but we are confident that together, through dialogue and real consultations, at the level of professionals from the public and private sectors, and with the same level of respect and balance between the objectives generated by the reduction of deficits and those of the taxpayers who support the Romanian economy, we will find the correct and equitable solutions," AmCham representatives claim in a statement sent on Tuesday.They emphasize that the immediate positive reactions of the markets demonstrate that a first step has been taken towards restoring confidence in the Romanian economy, the stakes now being to maintain and consolidate this confidence through firm, rapid and mature decisions.The legitimate expectation of the local and international business community, rating agencies and international bodies is the formation without delay of a stable and credible Government, supported by a solid parliamentary majority, capable of assuming responsibility for substantive reforms and urgent economic decisions, the press release states."After a prolonged electoral period that has made Romania economically, socially and institutionally vulnerable, we are seeing signs of optimism and confidence today, both domestically and internationally.
