ANRE: Electricity distribution fees will go down 8-10 pct beginning with January 1, 2016

December 23, 2015

Electricity distribution fees will go down 8-10 pct beginning with January 1, 2016 and household electricity prices will also reduce by 5 - 6 pct, president of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) Niculae Havrilet said on Thursday. "Beginning January 1, energy fees will decrease proportionally to the decrease in the distribution fees included in the end price. The distribution fee will go down by 8 to 10 percent and the cogeneration bonus will also reduce by 4 percent. These elements will result in a 5 - 6 percent decrease in the end price beginning January 1," Havrilet told the 25th edition of the Energy Focus Conferences. For natural gas, the production price will reduce 10 percent beginning July 1, 2016, but for industrial consumers the decrease will be 5 - 6 percent, and for household consumers the price liberalization calendar will bring another rise of 6 lei per MWh. ANRE vice-president Emil Calota said that he expects individual prices for the 38 heat utility companies to go down by 4 percent on average, to which the transport and distribution fees will apply, plus the subsidy elements decided by each municipal council, with the end billing price being established accordingly. Calota also said that Bucharest will see a 3.5 percent reduction in heat energy prices, while for Craiova the decrease will be 3.12 percent.
