Arrears of the general consolidated budget increased by 8.27% in August 2023

  Arrears in the general consolidated budget increased by 8.27% in August 2023 compared to the previous month, to 306.24 million lei, from 282.84 million lei in July, according to data published on the Ministry of Finance (MF) website. Arrears over 90 days increased by 51.6%, from 54 million lei to 81.9 million lei, those over 120 days decreased by 5.83%, from 151 million lei in July 2023 to 142.2 million lei in August 2023. Arrears over 360 days increased by 5.5%, from 77.9 million lei to 82.2 million lei.   According to the quoted source, as regards local budgets, arrears increased by 8.9%, from 363.2 million lei (in July 2023) to 286.83 million lei (in August 2023).   Debts over 90 days increased by 54% to 79 million lei, those over 120 days decreased by 5.45% to 135.5 million lei, while arrears over 360 days increased by 5.4% to 72.3 million lei.   In the "State budget and autonomous" chapter, arrears decreased from 19.63 million lei in July 2023 to 19.41 million lei in August 2023 (-1.12%).   Arrears over 90 days increased by 11.53% to 2.9 million lei, those over 120 days decreased by 13% to 6.7 million lei and those over 360 days increased by 5.37% to 9.8 million lei.
