The City of Brasov has been invited to take part in the first Brazil-Romania Forum on Creative Economy and Innovation, scheduled for 18-23 May, following an invitation extended to the city authorities by the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Romania, Ricardo Guerra de Araujo.According to a press release issued on Friday by Brasov City Hall, "the forum aims to bring together government representatives, cultural institutions, economic operators and creators from both countries in order to stimulate partnerships, harness creativity as a driver of sustainable development and deepen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two states".In this context, the city of Brasov, given its historical, cultural and economic relevance, holds particular importance for the success of the initiative, the Brazilian diplomat noted."As tourism is one of the pillars of the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, and Brasov has a great deal to offer in this field, the forum will also provide our city with the opportunity to promote its tourist offer," the cited press release states.Beyond the declared purpose of the visit, discussions covered a wide range of topics, from the advantages and disadvantages of owning one or several cars - the diplomat travelled to Brasov by train from Bucharest - to public transport alternatives, IT companies, tourism and martial arts, the source added. This is the second recent contact between Brazilian representatives and Brasov, following the Brazil-Romania Economic Mission last September, when a delegation of Brazilian businesspeople met with City Hall officials as well as representatives of the local business and academic communities. The Brazilian ambassador was accompanied on Friday by Veronica Bancilescu, president of the Chamber of Commercial Diplomacy with the Federative Republic of Brazil.
