According to MapN, the activity will take place in the presence of defense minister Vasile Dincu, of the secretary of state in the Italian defense ministry, Giorgio Mule, of the Defense chief of staff, General Daniel Predescu, of the Commander of NATO Combined Air Operations Centre Torrejon, lieutenant general Fernando de la Cruz Caravanca, of the British ambassador to Romania Andrew Noble, and of the Italian British and Romanian Air Force chiefs. The event will also include a joint demonstrative mission of the Enhanced Air Police, with the participation of aircraft belonging to the British, Italian and Romanian Air Forces. Four Eurofighter Typhoon airplanes belonging to the British Royal Air Forces (RAF) landed at Air Base 57 at the end of last month. The British detachment is made of 150 militaries (pilots and technical staff) and Eurofighter Typhoon airplanes and will carry out Enhanced Air Policing missions together with militaries of the Romanian Air Forces under NATO command in the next four months. This is the fourth RAF rotation at Mihail Kogalniceanu, after those carried out in 2017, 2018 and 2021. Air policing missions contribute to the development of reaction and discouraging actions and to the consolidation of interoperability between the Romanian Air Forces and allied forces.
