Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca,Brasov and Timisoara are the cities with the most available jobs

November 26, 2025

Employers in Romania have posted over 22,000 jobs openings in the last month, some of them in preparation for the holiday season, when the volume of activities increases and they need to expand their teams, data from eJobs, an online recruitment platform, shows.   Bucharest is the city with the most available positions at the moment, namely 11,000 and the areas for which candidates are most needed are call center/BPO, retail, services, food industry, tourism and transport/ logistics, according to eJobs.   'This is a period when not many positions of managers, seniors or specialists appear on the market, and this happens primarily because there is not a high turnover rate among them. They are much more stable at work than other categories of candidates, which means that the need for replacement does not arise as often. As things stabilize and rebalance in the economy, we will start to see them much more active on the labour market; explained Roxana Draghici, Head of Sales at the company, in a statement.   With 3,500 work places on the market, Cluj-Napoca is the second most active city in the country, from the point of view of employment. The most needed positions are in retail, food industry, services, transport/logistics, tourism and call-centre/BPO. In this case, the most wanted are the candidates with least level of experience or even at all or the ones in mid-level. Almost similar is the situation in Brasov but the domains for recruitment are food industry, services, tourism, retail, call-centres/BPO.   Another important centre for recruitment is Iasi with 2,800 workplaces at present, in domains such as services, food industry, call-centre/BPO, transport/logistics, tourism and retail. Over 2,000 positions are open in Ilfov, Constanta and Timisoara.   On the other hand, there are counties such as Mehedinti, Vrancea, Covasna, Caras-Severin or Teleorman where the workplaces offer is limited to numbers of hundreds. 'The big urban centres, such as Bucuresti, Cluj, Timis or Iasi draw the majority of jobs white collar, namely for candidates with higher education and from domains such as IT, call-centre/BPO ot financial-banking while Brasov, Sibiu, Prahova, Dolj or Arad have rather a share of workplaces of engineering and production. The touristic counties (Brasov, Constanta) have a permanent offer in HoReCa of course, with season peaks in summer and winter and Ilfov and the surrounding areas are engines for transport and logistics, due to the warehouses which serve the big cities', showed Roxana Draghici.   Regarding remote jobs, an option still highly sought after by candidates, the number of open positions is approximately 800, which confirms that employers are increasingly starting to move away from working from home and are asking employees to return to the office, where this has not already been done.   Currently, 21,000 jobs are available on eJobs.ro. Another 5,000 jobs are open on iajob.ro, the job platform launched by eJobs and dedicated to candidates who want to get hired quickly, without going through the traditional steps of a recruitment process, such as creating a CV.
