Bucharest in red scenario, COVID-19 incidence rate goes over 3 cases per 1,000 inhabitants

 The COVID-19 incidence rate in Bucharest has passed 3 cases per thousand inhabitants, on Wednesday, which means entering the red scenario.The 14-day COVID-19 incidence rate for Bucharest is 3.32 cases per thousand inhabitants on Wednesday, up from the previous day, when a value of 2.97 per thousand inhabitants was recorded, according to the Public Health Directorate (DSP).The Romanian capital was last at an incidence rate of more than 3 cases per thousand inhabitants on November 23, when a level of 3.04 was recorded.From that date until December 24, the COVID-19 pandemic recorded low values of up to 0.61 cases per thousand inhabitants, which were maintained until after the New Year, when it began to rise again.The highest rate of infection with SARS-CoV-2 in the capital was reached on October 22, when it hit 16.54 cases per thousand inhabitants. *** Most new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection compared to the last report are in Bucharest - 1,354 and in the counties of Cluj - 633, Suceava - 539, Timis - 514, Brasov - 365, Constanta - 347 and Bihor - 325, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Wednesday.The Romanian capital entered the red zone in terms of the rate of infection with SARS-CoV-2, with an incidence rate of 3.32 cases per thousand inhabitants, up from the previous day, when a value of 2.97 per thousand inhabitants was recorded.The counties of Cluj (4.46 cases per thousand inhabitants), Suceava (3.34) and Timis (3.03) are also in the red zone.
