Bucharest International Poetry Festival assembles poets from 30 countries on four continents, as of September 15

  The 15th edition of the Bucharest International Poetry Festival (FIPB), which will bring together nearly 200 poets from over 30 countries across four continents, will take place in the capital from September 15 to 21.The opening ceremony will be held at the "Carol I" Central University Library on Monday, September 15, at 6:00 PM, in the presence of prominent Romanian and international poets. The event will feature an exceptional musical performance by the "Madrigal - Marin Constantin" National Chamber Choir, convey the organizers in a press release sent on Wednesday.This year's edition of the Bucharest International Poetry Festival will welcome authors from Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Chile, China, Colombia, Cuba, Denmark, Switzerland, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Kenya, Israel, Italy, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Mexico, the Republic of Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, the United States, Sweden, Hungary, and Uruguay, alongside leading figures of Romanian poetry.The festival will feature over 60 free-access events across seven days, including exhibitions by artists Nelus Oana, David Greenslade, and Andrei Pandea, as well as themed evenings such as Georgian poetry, tributes to Andrei Bodiu (60), Gheorghe Craciun (75), Virgil Tanase (80), D. R. Popescu (90), debates like Antim Ivireanul, performance and slam poetry nights, erotic poetry, and "Poetry of Subcultures."Additionally, public readings will be held by poets from Romania, Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, along with book launches, international anthology presentations, concerts, and diverse recitals ranging from fado and jazz to classical and experimental music, featuring artists such as Mircea Tiberian, Nadia Trohin, Adrian Naidin, Catalina Beta, Albert Tajti, Jezebel, Axia Marinescu, Mircea Florian, and Mircea Rusu Band.Special events include the ceremony for planting cherry trees in the "Tudor Arghezi Poetry Garden", part of the international Bosques de la Poesía movement.FIPB 2025 will take place at well-known cultural venues in Bucharest, including the "Carol I" Central University Library, National Museum of Romanian Literature - Nicolae Cretulescu 8 and Calea Grivitei 64-66 locations, the Tudor Arghezi Memorial House, Carturesti Modul, ARCUB, Londohome, Kyralina Bookstore, the French Institute, the Cervantes Institute, KOG7 Gallery, and major high schools.The full program, organized by the Bucharest City Hall through the National Museum of Romanian Literature, will soon be available on the official website: www.fipb.ro.
