Bucharest, Timis and Cluj counties with the highest salaries in 2023; IT offers the most money

2023 was one year when the companies continued to extend their teams, but the  rhythm of salary increases of last year, of 10-15% in almost all the domains of activity, was not repeated, shows an analysis made by a recruitment platform in Romania.The highest salaries were recorded this year in Bucharest and the counties of Timis and Cluj and the lowest in Valcea, Ialomita and Galati, while the IT sector is still the domain which offers the highest salaries.According to the Salario data, the salary comparator of eJobs, the counties with the highest salaries this year were Bucharest with a net salary average of 5,000 lei, Timis with 4,700 lei, Cluj with 4,500 lei, Ilfov, Iasi, Brasov and Sibiu with 4,000 lei.Other counties where the net average salary is over the threshold of 3,500 lei are Bihor (3,950 lei), Prahova (3,800 lei), Arges (3,800 lei) and Alba (3,800 lei).At the other end of the top there are the counties Valcea, Ialomita and Gorj where the net average salary is 3,200 lei/monthly or Caras-Severin and Vaslui with 3,100 lei.The domains with most open positions in these counties are retail, services, tourism or food industry.According to the quoted source, from the point of view of the domains which offer highest salaries, first is still that of IT with a net average salary of 6,500 lei/monthly.Those who work in project management occupy the second position with a salary average of 6,000 lei. The employees in constructions and installations get, on average, 5,000 lei/monthly. The same average is valid for those in audit/consultancy and oil/gas. In engineering the average is 4,800 lei, net, in telecom, 4,400 and in banking 4,000 lei.The smallest differences appear, however, in sectors such as audit/consulting, where candidates have 20% higher expectations than what employers offer (5,000 lei vs. 6,000 lei); veterinary medicine (22%, from 3,700 to 4,500 lei); finance/accounting and production, both with the same indicators on figures (25% - respectively 4,000 lei vs. 5,000 lei) and food/HoReCa (29% - respectively 3,500 lei vs. 4,500 lei). As for the domains  that annually attract the highest number of jobs in the market and that recruit massively in almost all counties of the country, salaries are as follows: for retail, the average net salary is 3,600 lei, for the food industry 3,500 lei, for the call center/BPO industry 3,500 lei, and for transport/distribution 4,000 lei. At present, eJobs has availability for over 27,000 work places.
