The execution of the general consolidated budget ended with a nominal deficit of 121.77 billion RON, respectively 6.4% of GDP, after the first 11 months of 2025 down by 0.74 percentage points compared to the deficit recorded in the same period of 2024, of 7.15% of GDP, the Ministry of Finance announced.General budget revenues amounted to 591.91 billion RON, up 13% compared to the same period of the previous year. Expressed as a share of GDP, total revenues increased by 1.34%, an evolution supported by both current revenues and European funds.Expenditures, amounting to 713.68 billion RON, increased in nominal terms by 9.9% compared to the same period of the previous year. Expressed as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product, expenditures recorded an increase of 0.59 percentage points compared to the same period of 2024, from 36.93% of GDP to 37.52% of GDP. "Analyzing the evolution of the share of budget expenditures in GDP, we note that the growth rate in the current year decreased compared to the previous year, indicating a slowdown in the expansion of public expenditures reported to the GDP level," the Ministry of Finance states.The execution of the general consolidated budget for the first ten months of 2025 ended with a deficit of 108.87 billion RON, respectively 5.72% of GDP.The budget deficit target for the entire year is 8.4% of GDP, or 159.8 billion RON.
