October 5, 2023

Romania is approaching a gas storage fill rate for the cold season of 85%, which means that the country will be able to get through a normal winter using only gas from Romanian production and storage, Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja has announced. "We are approaching 85% gas storage fill for the cold season. 570 million cubic metres more than in the same period last year. This is good news because it means that we will be able to get through a normal winter only using gas from Romanian production and deposits (100% independent)," the minister wrote on his Facebook page.     On the other hand, he revealed that the authorities will not give up the gas and electricity compensation-capping scheme, which is in force until spring 2025. Romania is approaching a gas storage fill rate for the cold season of 85%, which means that the country will be able to get through a normal winter using only gas from Romanian production and storage, Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja has announced.
