Cars: ACAROM: 2.6% drop of new cars registrations in Romania in first two months, 2024

Registrations of new cars in Romania dropped by 2.6% in the first two months of the year, compared to the same period of 2023, according to centralized data of DRPCIV, quoted by the Association of Automobile Builders in Romania (ACAROM).   According to the source, in February 2024, new car registrations dropped by 8.92% against the same period of 2023, to a volume of 11,339 units.   In the first two months of 2024, registrations of new cars reached 24,072 units, on the drop by 2.6% against the same period of the previous year, when 24,715 units were recorded.   The volume of second-hand cars registered for the first time in Romania, reached a number of 29,462 units in February (+16.5% against February 2023), while 56,636 units were registered in the first two months of the year, on the rise by 16.7%, from one year to another.   The top of new cars over January-February 2024, is headed by Dacia, with 7,264 units, followed by Toyota with 1,846 units, Skoda (1,700), Hyundai (1,544), Renault (1,344), Volkswagen (1,343), Mercedes (932), Ford (878), Tesla (859) and Kia (775). ACAROM is an associate member of the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers- AEAM.
