CCIR: Imports of 94.8 billion euros should make us reconsider

May 26, 2022

The commercial balance deficit reached cosmic dimensions and the amount of 94.8 billion euros which we imported last year should make us reconsider things, said Mihai Daraban, the president of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Romania (CCIR).   “When we see there are 25,770 exporters in Romania and the first 100 carry out half of the entire export and two Romanian companies are among the first 100, that should make us reconsider things. The first 1,000 represent 81% of total export and there we find 148 Romanian companies. In other words, export in Romania is made by foreign companies activating in Romania. Then our orientation is toward that export of services where IT&C industry can become a leader. We must leave commercial exchanges of goods and deal with commercial exchanges of services,” Daraban said.   "C@municatii Mobile” publication organized on Tuesday the conference “International Day of Telecommunications and Information Society. Anniversary – 25 years of digital communications in Romania.”
