Chamber of Commerce: Total turnover of the top 10 companies in national companies ranking 270.56 B euros

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) has finalized the ranking of Romanian companies that have submitted their financial-accounting balance sheets for the year 2023, with 334,870 such balance sheets entering the competition for the first 10 positions, in accordance with the methodology for making the company lists implemented by the Chambers of Commerce in all the counties of the country.Thus, according to a press release sent on Tuesday, a number of 12,897 companies were included in the first 10 positions, with a cumulative turnover of 270.56 billion euros. At the same time, the operating profit of these companies amounted to 25.55 billion euros. The share of profit in the turnover represented 9.4% of the total turnover. Regarding the total number of employees of the companies ranked in the first 10 positions, it was 1,342,380.The most significant fields, by weight, according to the number of companies included in the top 10, are: industry (34.7%) and services (28.56%), followed by trade (20.71%), agriculture, forestry and fishing (5.07%), construction (4.77%), research-development and high-tech (3.72%), tourism (2.41%).By turnover, trade has a share of 45.1% of the total turnover of the companies, followed by industry (33.23%) and services (11.56%). The most profitable companies are operating in the industry sector, with a profit of 42.42% of the total profit and a share of the profit of 12% of the turnover of the companies in this economic sector."The National Top of Companies 2024 presents the best performing companies in seven fields of activity: industry; services; trade; tourism; research-development and high-tech; agriculture, forestry and fishing; construction. The ranking of the National Top of Companies is based on the following economic indicators: net turnover; profit from exploitation; efficiency of the use of human resources and the efficiency of the use of the employed capital," reads the same press release.The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) produces, since 1994, the National Top of Companies (TNF), being the only institution authorized by an organic law to establish such a hierarchy at the level of the entire country. The 31st edition of the National Top of Companies Gala 2024 will take place on November 7, at Romexpo.
