Code Orange for heatwave in 16 counties and Bucharest

Most of Muntenia, Oltenia (south), the mainland of southeastern Dobrogea and southern Moldova will be under a Code Orange for heatwave and severe thermal discomfort until Wednesday morning, according to a warning issued by the National Meteorological Administration.Between 11 June, 10:00 and 12 June, 10:00, in the areas covered by the warning, temperatures will be particularly high for this date, with highs generally between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, heatwave and severe thermal discomfort, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.The Code Orange will affect the capital and the counties of Tulcea and Constanta (partially) and Galati, Braila, Ialomita, Calarasi, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Buzau, Vrancea, Prahova, Dambovita, Teleorman, Arges, Olt and Dolj (in its entirety).At the same time, in central Moldavia and northern Oltenia and on the coast a Code Yellow for heatwave will be in force. In these regions, high temperatures will be recorded for this date, with highs ranging from 30 to 34 degrees Celsius, and the thermal discomfort will be high, with the temperature-humidity index (ITU) around 80 units. At the same time, nights will be tropical at times, with lows reaching and slightly exceeding 20 degrees Celsius.
