Code Red for heatwave in most regions, at end of week, temperatures rise to 41 degrees Celsius

  More than three-quarters of the country's counties will be under Code Red for heatwave and especially accentuated thermal discomfort this weekend, when temperatures will rise to 41 degrees Celsius, according to warnings issued by the National Meteorological Administration (ANM).The Code Red is valid for the days of July 13 and 14 and concerns areas of Crisana, Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia and Moldova and Bucharest.In these regions, the heat wave will continue to intensify and maximum temperatures ranging between 37 and 41 degrees Celsius will be recorded. Thermal discomfort will be particularly accentuated, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.There will be tropical nights, as temperatures will not drop below 20 degrees Celsius.According to ANM, the heat wave will persist throughout the country in the coming days.In the rest of the country, there will be a Code Orange at the end of the week.Thus, in the counties of Maramures, Transilvania, Dobrogea and the area of Eastern Carpathians, the heat wave will persist and intensify. It will be hot, the maximum temperatures will be 35-40 degrees Celsius, and on the coast 32-35 degrees Celsius. The thermal discomfort will be accentuated, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.Locally, tropical nights will be recorded, as temperatures will not drop below 20 degrees Celsius.Thus, under the Code Orange will be the counties of Maramures, Salaj, Cluj, Alba, Hunedoara, Bistrita-Nasaud, Mures, Sibiu, Harghita, Brasov, Covasna, Tulcea and Constanta, fully, and partially, Suceava, Neamt and Bacau, the rest of the counties being targeted by the Code Red.
