Competition Council authorizes Ciech Soda Romania to sell assets to Aloref and Ascom International

The Competition Council has authorized the transaction by which Aloref SRL and Ascom International SRL intend to take over the production activity and assets related to the marketing of liquid sodium silica belonging to Ciech Soda Romania SA, according to a press release.Aloref SRL specializes in the collection, sorting, processing, transport and recovery of waste (ferrous, non-ferrous, electrical and electronic, used batteries/accumulators, plastic, paper, etc.).Ascom International is present on the Romanian market by marketing products and raw materials or chemical substances. Ascom International also provides coal quarry handling services and construction vehicle rental services.Following the analysis, the Competition Council found that this operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or on a substantial part of it and that there are no serious doubts regarding its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.According to the press release, the decision will be published on the website of the national competition authority, after the removal of confidential information.
