Competition Council authorizes takeover of Stratum Energy Romania by Emma Lambda Ltd

  The Competition Council authorized the transaction by which Emma Lambda Ltd, Cyprus, intends to take over Stratum Energy Romania LLC, USA, together with Stratum Energy Romania LLC Wilmington, Bucharest branch and its subsidies, according to a press release of the competition authority.   According to the institution, Emma Lambda is part of Emma Group, active in the energy sector, gambling, medical service sector, pharmaceutical sector, digital commercial services, ets, in countries like Cyprus, Czech Republic, Moldova, Serbia and Hungary.   In Romania, Emma Group controls a series of companies with activities of natural gas supply and distribution, electric energy production, supply and distribution and energy production from renewable sources (wind and solar).   Stratum Energy Romania LLC is a natural gas producer operating in the gas and crude area of Poduri, delimited by Moinesti EV-1 concession, Bacau county. Following the analysis, the Competition Council found out that this operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competion in the Romanian market or part of it and there is no serious doubt about its compatibility with a normal competition environment.   The press release mentions that the decision will be published on the wensite of the national competition authority after the elimination of confidential information.
