DefMin, French ambassador, discuss collaboration within NATO and EU

Defence minister Angel Tilvar had a meeting, on Wednesday, with the ambassador of France in Bucharest, Nicolas Warnery, the two discussed the strategic priorities in defence, in the context of the evolution of the security situation in the Black Sea region and the continuation of the war of aggression launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as about collaboration within NATO, the EU, but also bilaterally.According to a press release from the Ministry of National Defence (MApN), the minister of National Defence reiterated the importance of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and France, especially on the security dimension, highlighting the activity of the Cincu Battle Group and its role in increasing the level of training and interoperability between NATO forces present in Romania.In this context, Tilvar emphasized the joint efforts at NATO level in the coming period, in order to prepare the allied decisions that will be adopted at the anniversary summit in Washington in July.The two officials pointed out the importance of continuing bilateral cooperation in the field of defence, in order to identify the optimal ways by which the two states can strengthen their collaboration regarding the funding programs for the endowment and development of the military capabilities necessary to counter the new threats, MApN shows.
