Defence Minister Radu Miruta on Tuesday welcomed Norway's ambassador in Bucharest Hilde Svartdal Lunde to discuss opportunities for industrial and technological cooperation, including by capitalising on the SAFE Security Action for Europe instrument.According to the Defence Ministry, during the discussions, the "excellent" relations between the two countries were highlighted, both bilaterally and inside NATO, with the two officials underscoring the importance of strengthening cooperation after the recent developments in the European security architecture.Miruta brought to attention current aspects of the security situation in the Black Sea region, highlighting the importance of coordination between NATO allies in support of Ukraine and Moldova at the level of strengthening resilience against hybrid threats.Discussions also focused on opportunities for industrial and technological cooperation, including by capitalising on the SAFE instrument, with the parties agreeing on the need to keep up a constant dialogue on this subject.Miruta voiced his appreciation for the bilateral cooperation in the defence hardware area and for the support provided in the modernisation of our Romania's defence capabilities, including through the acquisition of F-16 aircraft from Norway.
