DefMin Mosteanu discusses with ambassador of Netherlands about security situation and

The Minister of National Defense, Ionut Mosteanu, met on Thursday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bucharest, Willemijn van Haaften, in which context they discussed, among other things, the security situation in the Black Sea and the initiative regarding the creation of the "Drone Wall".According to a press release from the Ministry of National Defense, the discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of defense, with an emphasis on the development of industrial partnerships, the security situation in the Black Sea and the initiative regarding the creation of the "Drone Wall", a project intended to contribute to increasing surveillance and defense capabilities on the Eastern Flank.In the current security context, the two officials reconfirmed their firm support for Ukraine in the face of the illegal aggression of the Russian Federation. Thus, the joint commitment to strengthening regional resilience and maintaining stability on NATO's Eastern Flank, as well as the contribution to the Air Capabilities Coalition, through the European F-16 Training Center in our country, were mentioned."The Hague is one of Romania's most important partners and allies, with essential contributions to regional security and to the allied deterrence and defense posture in the Black Sea," said the Minister of National Defense, quoted in the press release.According to the press release, the two officials also discussed the priorities of the agenda of the upcoming meeting of defense ministers from NATO member countries, which will take place next week in Brussels, with an emphasis on the full operationalization of the allied decisions adopted at the Hague Summit.From the perspective of defense at the EU level, Minister Mo?teanu and Ambassador van Haaften reaffirmed the need to deepen cooperation and joint commitment in strengthening the European defense profile, the cited source mentions, adding that they also discussed maximizing the use of the opportunity offered by the SAFE financial instrument, especially for the defense industry, with benefits for strengthening the capacities of European states and developing this field of activity.
