At the same time, both sides expressed firm support for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova."On the EU dimension, the very good level of cooperation and coordination was highlighted, including within the framework of European initiatives for capability development. The commitments in relation to missions and operations carried out under the auspices of the Common Defense and Security Policy were also addressed, with the minister of defence highlighting the significant contribution of Romania in the EUFOR Althea operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the consistent participation in the operational efforts on the African continent, considering the importance of ensuring a stable environment in the South as well," the press release reads.The meeting was also an opportunity to review the status of bilateral relations, respectively, the intensification of political-military contacts and practical cooperation under the training and exercise program, as well as cooperation within NATO and the EU, the quoted source mentions.
