Deloitte Romania has recruited Alin Chitu, professional with almost 20 years of experience in the fiscal field, for the position of Tax Partner

Deloitte Romania has recruited Alin Chitu for the position of Tax Partner, reporting to Vlad Boeriu, Tax and Legal Partner-in-Charge. With a vast expertise in fiscal advisory, built along almost two decades, Alin Chitu’s new role will be to contribute to the expansion of Deloitte Romania’s tax practice.
“I take this opportunity to publicly welcome back a very dear colleague, a seasoned fiscal consultant who has developed most of his career within Deloitte and who is returning home to strengthen our partner group and help us further develop our practice and our people. Alin has always been a very smart, knowledgeable and entrepreneurial professional with a strong understanding of business and orientation towards relationship building, to which he has added, in the recent years, a privileged understanding of macro-economics and public policy issues. Alin will no doubt add distinctive skills and value to our strong tax practice and to a partner group of which I am very proud,” stated Alexandru Reff, Country Managing Partner, Deloitte Romania and Moldova.
Alin Chitu has focused on the fiscal field for almost his entire career, working as a consultant in large professional services firms or as a freelancer. He started his career in Deloitte Romania, in 2005, as a tax consultant. His career path included various roles over the years, such as local expert with the World Bank and state secretary with the Ministry of Finance, where he contributed to reshaping the tax legislative framework, was involved in projects with the EU Commission and in Romania’s negotiation process for becoming a member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Alin holds a bachelor’s degree in finance insurance, banks and stock exchange, and a master’s degree in European public governance.
