Distributie Oltenia announces investments of 76 million lei, European funds for a smart distribution network

March 1, 2022

The operator Distributie Oltenia announced on Monday that they started the project Advanced Distribution Management System, for the development of a smart network of distribution, for the benefit of the ove 1.4 million electricity users and the value of the project is 76 million lei, out of European Funds.   ‘The strategic project is an advanced system of distribution management, a software platform which ensures the control and management of the distribution process as wel as its optimisation’ the company says.   An ADMS system (Advanced Distribution Management System)is made up, in short, of four main elements: the SCADA which implies data acquisition in real time for the control of the distribution network. This is translated into the rapidity of the operator to react to unforeseen events. The DMS part, for the analysis and optimization of the network.   This means the operator will be able to offer energy at the quality and quantity required, by observing the parameters in real time. The OMS for the management of breaks in the energy supply.   The ADMS will reduce significantly the time for intervention for fixing the problems in supply with electricity. The reporting part, for analysis and data measurement connected to the functioning of the network. The new system offers advanced control means, allowing the rapid diagnosis and solutioning of the events which could influence the quality of energy distribution.   The system involves, at the same time, a set of functions for the optimisation of the distribution network performance and it will function as a modern tool in the monitorisation and efficient control of the electricity distribution system, by improving the safety, the fiability, the quality of the services, response to emergency situations, accuracy of the network analysis, engine speed calculations and technological consumption.
