EC President, UN High Commissioner for Refugees will be in Bucharest on Thursday

  European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi will be in Bucharest on Thursday for meetings with President Klaus Iohannis.According to the Presidential Administration, the head of the state will receive Ursula von der Leyen at the Cotroceni Palace at 10:00. The two will have one-on-one talks and official talks, and will deliver joint press statements at the end.Next, President Iohannis has a meeting with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi scheduled at noon.    United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi will be in Bucharest on Thursday for meetings with President Klaus Iohannis, Crown Custodian, Her Majesty Margareta, and Secretary of State for Home Affairs and Head of the Emergency Department Raed Arafat.The UN High Commissioner's visit to Romania comes a day after the latest UN Refugee Report was published.   According to the latest report from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, posted on its website on Wednesday, the number of refugees fleeing Ukraine to neighboring countries in the face of the Russian invasion has risen even further, reaching almost 836,000 people in March 1.
