Egypt, Romania FMs open training course on post-conflict reconstruction, development, stability in Sahel region

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and his Romanian counterpart Luminita-Teodora Odobescu inaugurated Sunday a training course on post-conflict reconstruction, development and stability in the Sahel region, https://www.mena.org.eg/ informs.The event is organized by the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding in Africa (CCCPA), an affiliate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Romanian Agency for Development.Minister of Culture Ahmed Hano was also present.Abdelatty said in a speech that the training course is the first of its kind held between the Egyptian and Romanian sides on the subject of reconstruction, reflecting the existing coordination on files of mutual interest.The holding of this course reflects the great interest that Egypt and Romania attach to relations with African countries, especially the Sahel region, as well as to the file of post-conflict reconstruction and development, he added.Abdelatty pointed out that this training program coincides with Egypt's presidency of the African Peace and Security Council, during which Egypt is keen to increase its contributions to efforts to prevent and resolve crises in Africa.The two officials held a discussion session today at Tahrir Palace, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two friendly countries.The meeting witnessed a discussion of the most prominent developments related to issues of mutual interest in the regional and international arenas.
