EMI takes over Belgian company Decran, an industrial steel door manufacturer

May 25, 2022

EMI, a national player in the field of complete solutions and services for industrial access, has recently announced the full takeover of Decran shares, a Belgian company specializing in the manufacture and installation of industrial steel doors.   “This is the second M&A transaction made By EMI in Belgium, after taking over the majority package of shares of Access System since the beginning of March,” the company announced.   Decran is present in the Belgian market since 1996 and is specialized in manufacturing and installing industrial steel doors for interior and exterior. The doors are made in Slovakia, then are transported to Belgium and installed for customers, mostly in the Flanders area.   The company has 37 employees, 20 of whom are in Belgium, and the rest are working in the Slovakia factory. Decran customer portfolio includes mainly industrial builders such as Alheembouw, Willy Naessens or Cordeel. The company also serves a varied range of factories and storehouses in Flanders area.   The investment in Decran is a strategic one for EMI, which will concentrate on sales between Romania and Belgium, offering customers a wide range of services, from design and production, to maintenance services. Decran will continue to function in Belgium while the founder, Lode Decraene will remain involved in carrying out the activity for at least a year with a view to completing the transition process.   In 2021, Decran recorded a business figure of 5.4 million euros. On the other hand, EMI registered incomes of 14 million euros in 2021, a 23% increase against 2020. The company considers that on the background of the accelerated development of logistic projects in 2021, customers in the industrial and logistic areas will remain the main development vectors in the years to come.   In 2022, EMI has in view overall incomes of 22 million euros, including the business figure obtained by Access Systems and Decran.   EMI has a 22 year experience in the Romanian market, specializing in industrial access solutions – doors, curtains, fences and other industrial closing systems. The company has 80 employees and supplies integrated solutions, from consulting, design, manufacture, mounting, to maintenance and service, through global access solutions for the industrial, commercial and logistic sectors. At its Cateasca factory EMI also develops unique technical solutions adapted to customer needs.
