Enchanted Garden exhibition, at the Bucharest Botanical Garden

May 14, 2024

The Enchanted Garden exhibition, made by the photographer Norbert Kopf, will open on Friday in the Bucharest Botanical Garden, in the presence of the author. The opening event will be attended by Mrs. Margit Bruck-Friedrich, in charge of interim affairs, the photographer Norbert Kopf, the co-curator of the exhibition, Sissi Munz, and the director of the Austrian Cultural Forum, Leopold Unger, and the opening speech will be given by representatives of the Dimitrie Brandza Botanical Garden of Bucharest, the Austrian Cultural Forum informed, on Monday, in a statement sent on Monday."Taken between 2017 and 2021, Norbert Kopf's photographs make the depicted flowers enhance both their beauty and mystery. A master of light-playing, the artist helps the viewer to make out tiny structures such as stamens, for example. From a certain angle, they will seem like little men, gathered in colourful groups. The almost unreal beauty of these oversized flowers stimulates the imagination, including the olfactory one, thus sublimating the scents of the plants that decorate the spaces of the Botanical Garden in Bucharest," the release reads. The photos can be seen until June 30, daily, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.Born in Salzburg in 1961, Norbert Kopf studied and worked as a bank clerk. He is also a trainer in the field of creativity and author of books. He carried out various projects in countries such as Switzerland, Japan, Germany and others. Since 2013, he has been a freelance photographer and gardener. He lives and works in Salzburg.
