Four centuries after the publication of Shakespeare's The Tempest in 'First Folio', The Last Piece revisits some of the themes used by the "Bard of Avon": illusion, power, transformation, and the role of art in the tension between the earthly and the spiritual."If stylistically Shakespeare astonishes with the variety of dramatic techniques employed in "bewitching" the audience - poetically harnessing dance, music and acting to address various categories of spectators - Constantin Basica's concert pursues a similar effect compositionally, by appealing to interdisciplinarity, immersiveness and technology," the festival organizers specify.The 27th edition of the George Enescu International Festival is taking place in Bucharest and across the country until September 21.
