The European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Dan Jorgensen will be on Monday 27th October in Romania to take part in the ministerial reunion of the Group at high level for energy connectivity in Central and South-East Europe (CESEC), organised in Bucharest by the European Commission together with the ministry of energy, according to a press release.During the visit, commissioner Jorgensen will meet the prime-minister of Romania, Ilie Bolojan and will have a series of bilateral reunions with the minister of energy, Bogdan-Gruia Ivan, with the chairman of the National Authority for Regulation in Energy, George Niculescu and with the general manager of the national operator for gas transport system (OST) Transgaz, Ion Sterian.During the first part of the day, commissioner Jorgensen will host the ministerial reunion CESEC together with the Romanian minister of energy, during which event the discussions will concentrate on the implementation of the objectives of REPowerEU as EU negotiations on phasing out imports of fossil fuels from Russia advance.Discussions will also address market integration and diversification, as well as accelerating energy infrastructure and connectivity projects as ways to reduce energy prices and make them more affordable. The debate will be based on the set of actions to reduce energy prices presented by the Commission earlier this week, including gas demand aggregation for stakeholders in the region. According to the quoted source, in the afternoon, the Commissioner will visit the national Central Energy Dispatching Operator, managed by Transelectrica, and will meet with Cosmin Nicula, CFO of Transelectrica.
