EY Study: over a third of Romanians use a mobile device to pay for an acquisition

A little over a third of Romanians use a mobile device to pay for an acquisition, while 60 percent say data confidentiality is extremely important, show the results of a study on The Use of Mobile Devices in Romania conducted by EY, that was released on Wednesday. According to the statistics, the respondents aged between 35 - 45 are the most numerous of the persons who consider mobility (38pct), accessibility (38pct) and connectivity (37pct) as the most important benefits. The Romanians aged between 45-55 are the second-most numerous respondent bracket who say mobility and connectivity are the most important benefits, while the 25 to 35-year-old surveyed are the second most numerous category who believe accessibility is one of the most important benefits. For 60 percent of the polled confidentiality is extremely important, while for 27 percent it is very important and for 10 percent it is important. The EY survey reveals that the most open persons to using a mobile device for paying in a shop are those aged 35 to 45 (35pct), followed by the respondents aged 45 to 55 and the ones aged between 25 - 35 with 24 percent each. The EY research is structured by five sections, from which extracted was the most significant data regarding the security and confidentiality of using the mobile devices and the benefits of the use of mobile devices in correlation to the users' age. In Romania, EY has been a leader of the professional services market as early as since its establishment in 1992, with over 650 staff in Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The company has offices in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Iasi and Chisinau.
